Technology was slow and simple, you had to call someone at home if you wanted to know what they were doing, Reagan was is in office and in the early 80's in a little neighborhood called Little Haiti, was a small rundown arcade. Edmond's was ran by Bernardo "Eddie" Edmond who was having a difficult time keeping the place running. His wife had left him to never be seen again, leaving him alone to run the store as well as try to raise their son, Cameron. Raised in an arcade by his father shaped Cameron's life greatly. Eddie could not afford technicians for the arcades when they were not working so he had to do so himself. This was not a horrible issue for Eddie learned over the years how to take care of them. He taught his knowledge to Cameron. By the time he was 6, little Cameron was making small repairs when the arcades were out service. Leading into a lifetime fascination with technology.
Such a fascination lead to some school pranks. Just to name a few would be adjusting the sprinkler system to go off during tests, taking of the P A System to play Wu Tang's 36 Chambers album. Took the school about 15 minutes to figure out how to stop it and there was the time he locked the entire faculty out of the computer system for a two days. He was certainly a problem child when it came to school. There was the occasional fights, though he never picked them, he was simply standing up for himself against bullies, talking back, ditching classes, smoking by age of twelve and the summer after he turned fifteen, Cameron never went back to school. The school didn't care about their students and he knew he'd never get proper teaching in an over crowded highs school in Miami. The clever kid he was, he passed his GED and pretty much taught himself. When he wasn't working on fixing arcades for his pops, he was researching things online. Hacking his way into online classes and simply just studying anything he could read via the internet.
Computers and technology was not Cameron's one and only passion. He had many in fact. However the only possible field of interest for him that could rival it was art. Though this would lead to get him in trouble as more often than not, the artwork that he came up with was found on anything but paper. Throwing tags and bombs all over Miami. Walls, buses, trains and subways. His writing name "Kameo" was starting to be seen and known in all parts of Miami. By the fall of 1995, Cameron had got an apprentice ship at Tattoos By Lou. Eventually getting his own chair in the studio. Though he got tired of taking the bus, biking or simply walking there. He routed calls to an auto response system while making sure only his calls made it through in order to be the 1,000 caller, winning a free 2000 Mercury Cougar he would eventually put a kit onto.
That was child's play though. As the years passed Cameron was starting to get his hands dirty in bigger and bigger systems. He was making driver's licenses for his friends, getting paid by students to change their grades or change their class schedule to their liking, hall passes to start but once he turned eighteen and moved into his own apartment, that's when the real fun began. Taking over traffic lights during street races, listening in to police radio and one time even making it so all the radios got were old Looney Tunes rather than police chatter for a half hour one night, taking over television stations late night to put whatever show or movie on he wanted. The rate of things he was getting into got him on someone's radar. Being watched from a far.
It wasn't until he was twenty three that he was more then just a blip on a radar. Cameron was able to make a virus that transferred information. What information did it transfer? Debt. Cameron was able to get any and all interest fees and late fees removed from over 200,000 American Express owners, as well as the derogatory remarks across the three credit bureaus. Where did it all go? Equally spread against the twenty world leaders as well as a few top level employees and heads of the IRS, American Express, FBI and CIA as he had found a system that had charged customers late fees on over millions of customers incorrectly. Set to charge 48 hours before their due dates. Caught and awaiting trial when suddenly all charges were dropped. When Cameron made his way home he found a message on his computer from another hacker. Ever since then, Cameron has been a loyal asset of mysterious group only known as The Network.
