Really, should she have her phone right now? What she really shouldn't be doing is poking the beast. Again. It was far too late for an answer to the call, and given the too few rings that chirped in her ear, this one was probably bummer buttoned the moment her name displayed on the face of things -- if he woke up to it at all.
The first few seconds of the message left came with just sniffles, maybe the sound of lips smacking against one another, and then when her voice piped up, it was rough and strained.
Voicemail:
"It's all fucking true. And I won't apologize for it." After a lengthy pause, her voice rose again, only fainter -- as if not into the device. "What? No. It's Tomas .. no! Don't .. gimme my phone, Ern--"
A very abrupt end to a message that shouldn't have been left at all.
