Location: Judy's Diner
Characters: Cameron Edmonds, Sam Thompson, Adam Byrne
Bits N Bombs: With a belly growling Cameron his the streets for some food. Hitting up Judy's he parked the Ford Mustang and soon was slipping in. Black graffiti tee was worn with some splash of orange in it was worn with black cargos and black and orange Jordan's. Simple orange beanie worn a top his head. Making his way to order he got a po'boy with side of fries and Dr Pepper. Sitting back at a table , the sandwich was lifted and a large bite was taken followed by "Mmm" Chewing down that first bite as enjoyed the quietness while he ate. Not overly crowded at the moment and music wasn't blaring or anything like that -d-
paradise and sin: Right around the time Cameron took his first bite, the bell above the door jingle jangled. The scrawny kid that served as an eager little gopher lead the way inside, with another of Adam's enforcers behind him. It was the Irishman who came in last behind them. Silas was the first to spot Cameron, and since he was playing lead horse, he directed a path to the lanky hacker; dropping into a vacant seat at the table beside his, with Rod dropping his oversized self beside him and nearly knocking the kid off balance simply by taking up too much room. Adam, on the phone, gave Cam an upnod in greeting; continuing his conversation in broken Spanish, which wasn't at all appealing with the clipped accent that rode his own tongue. He sat, across from Cameron, but the conversation didn't last long, and for a moment after ending the call and settling his phone onto the table, Adam studied the darker skinned fellow across from him. "Is there a way to see satellite images from days past?" -d-
Spots on a Peach: ~Judy's diner was the place to be tonight! Though it was really just by coincidence that Sam found herself stopping in for a bit to eat. Most of the last few days had been spent away from the Dive if it could be avoided, there were just far to many cops still lurking around (lets face it, one was more than enough) It meant that her time had been spent, either at work or at Titanium...tonight was the latter. A four hour session had just been closed out which meant she was in desperate need for something to eat. A little nudge was given to the door some minutes after Adam and entourage had entered. For everyone's sake, she at least had the wherewithal to shower and change afterward. Acid washed denim from what used to be a pair of jeans now served as shorts, complete with tattered and frayed hems and a black feminine cut tank top with a screenprinted zombie teddy bear and the word 'braaaaains' as a rocker, the black jansport was slung over one shoulder and supported with a hand on the strap while her other fiddled with her phone, flipping through music more than likely since earbuds were still in place. All and all, in spite of the still split lip and obvious gaunt yellow bruise on her cheek, she at least looked semi put together, considering everything that had happened the last few days. Sea green pools finally peeled up from the phone when she reached the hostess stand, darting about the Diner in a quick once over just to get help get a bit of bearing.~ "fuuuck" ~The elongated word was probably louder than she had intended it, thanks to the blaring music...of course Adam was here, the only saving grace...Cam was too, which probably meant they were busy.~(D)
Bits N Bombs: Hands wrapped around that big sammich about to take that second bite when Rod sat down and Kam felt the earthquake shake his seat. Dropping forward as if some one just hit his back too hard eyes rolled up to Rod as if he really could do something to an enforcer. " Dude... seriously. Bubble " Giving a very "Duh" scoff of a look as he shook his head. Finally getting to his second bite before setting down on his tray. Chewing as he looked up and watched Adam stumble his way thorough Spanish another little head shake as he spoke more so to himself , but in jest to Adam if he heard " Estás haciendo daño en mis oídos por aquí. " Once Adam stopped talking on his phone Kam lifted a brow half way up his forehead at the question. Reaching for his soda he cleared his throat " Depends on the server and the service. " He said. " You got Google images sitting there for months to years. Guess it would matter what satellite and if they kept their recordings. Most retail shops toss their CCTV records after 30 days. " -d-
aradise and sin: Rod only fitted Cameron with a look from the other table -- no where near his bubble, so the bean pole could fuck off. The look ended, however, with a wink from the gargantuan chocolate man. Adam missed the jested quip, but was all ears for the actual answer to his question. Oh, and Samantha? Adam's back might be to you, but Silas sure saw ya. NOW you pick a time to decide people are busy? Typical. ``Boss, boss .. `` he gave an upnod with his chin in Sam's direction when Adam shifted dark eyes his way, and completed it with a hover of his hands over his youthful chest as if mimicking the hold of breasts. A shift of Adam's attention over his shoulder, and he cursed in quiet Gaelic at seeing Sam. Back to Silas, "Go get her." And to Cameron? "Mikaela's sayin' two men went into the woods next to the Dive, but we've only accounted for one of them." Who was found drowned in Kae's harbor, his face beaten to shit. "I'm needin' you to see if we can find out where t'other popped out of the woods, if he did, and if y'can follow his tracks from the Dive, to wherever he laid himself low." Silas eager beavered his way over to Sam, teenage cocky shit grin on his face. ``Boss wants ya, tough girl.`` -d-
Spots on a Peach: ~Samantha was content as ever to go right on pretending she hadn't seen the man, she was even quick to start fussing with the phone again, making sure Pandora played something nice and heavy to give her an excuse...thank god for OTEP. Hell, Sam was even going as far as to plan on having the hostess sit her on the far side of the establishment...it was just a shame she'd never make it that far. Eyes whipped up from the phone again, half expecting to find Sandra...or whatever the fuck the waitresses name was standing there and ready to seat her, only to find Silas. An audible grumble was offered, he was saying something, but thanks to the music she didn't hear. Another few seconds of a blank stare before one earbud was popped out and a very curt~ "What?" ~was issued. Of course it didn't take a genius to figure out what he was there for, and she really didn't need him to repeat himself. Eyes drifted from the kid towards the crowded booth and back again.~ "Well, fine then...lead the way." ~And just as she was about to pop the earbud back in a glare was shot back at him~ "But...if you touch me this time. I swear to christ, I'll break every bone in your hand." ~The little nudge at the pony still festered under her skin. And then, the dismissive wave to send him on ahead as the music resumed~(D)
Bits N Bombs: Even though Adam wasn't really saying anything specific at the same time poor Kam's brain was about to burst. Business talking. Public. Ears. Nooooooo. Paranoia code still spat out either way. " Yeah sure. I'll talk to the eye in the sky " Or hack a satellite " See if any news feeds of lost campers pop up and see if we have a happy ending to the story " Or see where a man on the run popped out of the woods "Who knows . Maybe some Cherokee found rabbit tracks and can send up a smoke signal for ya where " Cause just like a lucky rabbits foot, can't be that lucky if you took it's paw so some unlucky bastard was gonna be sought out and pin pointed on a map for the boss man " Anything else ? " He said with a wide smile -d-
paradise and sin: ``It's your funeral,`` the kid grinned, and gave a shrug of one bony shoulder. Turning 'round, he lead the way back to the two tables, kicking out the chair across from him and Rod for her -- which put her next to Adam, just at the neighboring table. Leaning back, the brutish man nodded along to Cameron's twistabout words, easily following the cryptic way the man spoke. Thoughtfully, inked fingers stroked along his jawline some; only sparing a glance for Sam when she sat. "I need to know where he went if he came out of the trees." The possibility did stand that the shitheel never made it out of the woods in a bit of the same way Ernesto and Kae managed to find the other, but neither of them mentioned it when questioned. Anything else? "Yeah," a finger lifted to give him a moment, and Adam turned to lean in toward Sam. "You'll do well to remember that I'm not yer father, to bail you out of the shit you get yourself into. I'll remind you too, that yer a guest of mine at that casino, and that the house wins more often than not because of it." Dark eyes fixed on her lighter set a moment, and Adam straightened to regard Cam once more. "Mars Murdock has given permission that you can go into the security room at the casino and look through their cameras to see if you find any reason why she shouldn't have been picked up for countin'. You'll use their system, not yours. He's expectin' you in the mornin', and you're to call me straight away with what y'find." -d-
Spots on a Peach: ~The quip, for both their sakes, was missed. She'd gone right back to listening to whatever Otep song had been playing, but for the sake of the short walk over to the table, the phone was at least shoved into a front pocket. It wasn't until the chair had been pushed out, and Sam was half way to sitting, that she bothered pulling out the earbuds, but the cord was simply laid round her neck and allowed to dangle as opposed to actually being put away. Just in time apparently, since Adam turned his focus to her, the salvo left her with a bit of a deer in the headlights look for several long seconds before she managed to put together a coherent thought.~ "I didn't ask you to bail me out anything...I thought it was prudent to explain to you the situation, before you heard it somewhere else." ~A little shrug was given, while she wanted to continue...while every fiber of her was screaming on the inside, what little logic she had gave way that it would just come off as her being petulant, but to say the least...she was biting the inside of her cheek. A quick glance to Cameron who was tasked with the investigation, then back to Adam again.~ "And if I'm innocent? "~It was not much of a question in her mind, the hand that started the ruckus was split 8's which, against the dealer showing seven was just common sense.~ "...if, I want my money back." ~The eleven hundred that had been confiscated might not have seemed like all that much in the grand scheme of things, but for her...it was enough.~ "...and, a new board. They broke mine." (D)
Bits N Bombs: Kam would go and make a face at Adam when he said he had to use the Casino's and not his own tech. At home he could do what he wanted how wanted dressed how he wanted. But at the Casino? It meant he had to be Cameron. SecurityConsultant. No graphic tees for that bunch. " I gotta wear a tie don't I? Fine " He said as he grabbed his sandwich , taking another bite as the two of them had their talks. Chewing again he washed down with the Dr. Pepper . Kam was pretty non responsive to anything in that conversation until she said they broke her board. Head rolled up as he looked at Adam "Dude " Kam looked like he heard someone broke the Holy Grail or Bro Code or something. " If she is I'll handle the board " He said offering his help cause well he didn't trust Adam or any of the goons to handle that right. She get a plant with wheels bolted on. " I got some extras anyway " He said more so to himself " I'll be there bright and early for The Chocolate M&M and let you know when I finish viewing over the feeds. Should hear from me before noon. I hope. " He said looking over to Adam then to Sam and Back -d-
paradise and sin: For a moment, he wondered what it was about himself that made it okay for the talk back, for the faces made at him. Was he too lenient, like Caesar was lamenting to be these days? Did he have some friendly disposition that he wasn't aware of that invited this bullshit? All he could do was stare at Sam, as she went against her better judgement and actually demanded money and her board back. The look on his face was a bit disbelieving at the gall, and Cameron was fixed with the same one when he tacked on to it, and then actually called Murdock the chocolate M&M. What the fuck was wrong with these two? "Jesus Mary and Joseph," he muttered beneath his breath, and scrubbed his hand over his face and into his hair; while his jaw clenched a tick and he shifted in his chair to sit up a little straighter. Cameron was first. "I don't give a rats arse what you wear, but you'll be professional. This isn't some game, these aren't your piece of shit friends, you'll respect the man and his crew for the favor he's allowing for me." And to Sam? He only had one word for her, to answer all her questions and arguments and whatever else she was going to throw at him that she thought was going to help her case, and in fact, only pissed him off further. "No." -d-
Spots on a Peach: ~The whole five minutes she'd been sitting already left a sour taste in her mouth, this was far from the nice quite meal she'd intended on having, free of turmoil or the like. The only silver lining, she had lost her appetite...Which, honestly wasn't the best thing in the world since her metabolism was burning fast. Another brief glance to Cam who at least offered to replace the board, but gaze quickly shot back to Adam with his flat answer. Her head bobbed forward a little and tongue clicked against the roof of her mouth in a tsk...here she was innocent and he was refusing to right the wrong. The earbuds still dangling around her neck were snatched up as Sam pushed herself up from the chair.~ "Again, Adam...let me thank you for clearing things up...you see. I, for some reason...was under the impression this was supposed to be all...we were supposed to be a team, and while I might have only been a small part of it...I was still a part of it. But, I was wrong...In the few months I've been here, I've seen people die, had guns pointed at me and was wrongfully beaten, whatever right? I'm tired of sitting on the bench Adam...the six days I ran with Tomas, I moved more co-..." ~And of course she had to stop herself, quiet or not, places always had ears.~ "...I moved more than his other two dealers combined. Then I get bumped to Caesars crew...who proceeds to ice me out...guy's probably to fucking high to know anyway's." ~Angry, of course she was and it wasn't entirely misguided.~ "...but I guess results just don't matter if someone's not willing to suck a cock while their at it." ~And with that she slipped from the Table entirely, taking a few steps towards the door.~ "If you need me, you know where to find me." ~The dive was all she had left, though...she'd probably be sleeping with one eye open tonight, and the door doubly armed. A three fingered wave and out she went into the night.~(D)
Bits N Bombs: Looking at Adam when he made his comments he retorted " How long ya known me Adam. Have I ever not shown respect towards the upper management. Done or spoke in anyway to clientele that would reflect badly of my Manager? " He said. Come on. Marshal Mathers was awesome so a Chocolate Eminem ref, meant the man was big time. But that may have flown over . Kam did talk weird as it was. But when it was business. Specially when favors were given he was straight laced and pro every time. While he did have his own strange lingos he knew not to push it enough to get shot. The man wasn't fond of guns and killing as it were so he tried his best to ensure he wouldn't have reason to be killed. "Promise to be the number one techie you expect me to be " -d-
paradise and sin: "You've no problem showin' your tongue to me," Adam cooly spoke in response to Cameron's defense of his professionalism, while Sam stood up and showed her own. Jesus, had the girl never had a job before this? Did she have parents? No wonder she was so alone. When he turned to face her now, it was fully, and she had his attention fully too. Spouting on and on about what she's done for Tomas -- how she only thought he'd had two dealers beside her was beyond the man at this moment, because he still couldn't quite get passed that she even thought what she was doing right now at this very second was going to end well for her. Halfway through her piece and the muscle in his cheek twitched, and dark eyes moved from focusing on the girls face, and over to where Rod sat watching the show too. It was a silent exchange when the onyx enforcer met his look, a barely there nod from the man Sam had her back to. Adam said nothing. Let her finish. Let her stomp her way out, like the bitchy teenager she was proving herself to be. Whether she'd put him in his place as she'd intended, or he was letting her believe she was, who knew. But no sooner had the door closed behind her little ass, Rod was raising fluidly from the table in his hulk, and following after her. "Silas," Adam spoke to the young man. "Go with him. Learn a thing or two." A toss of his head in the direction of the exit, and while the kid scrambled to join the enforcer, Adam shifted his attention back to Cameron. "On second thought, we'll let whatever Murdock decides stand. I'll let him know there's no need for a favor after all." -d-
Bits N Bombs: " Won't happen again " Was all Kam would say to that. Then when he was told that he didn't have to do the favor he gave a head nod " Yes sir " That said he continued onward with his meal. Finishing the po-boy and fries he looked at Adam. " Anything else Boss? If not I'll go ahead and get to work on the original request " Had plenty of hours of satellite feed to scroll through after all -d-
paradise and sin: "No, no, that'll do." Watching Cameron a tick longer, a steady expression on his face, though if you knew right where to look those familiar with it might catch the amusement at the corner of his mouth or in the dark of his eyes. From one extreme to the other. What the hell was he going to do with this crack team of criminals? Rising, Adam fished out a few bills from the fold of them clipped to his wallet; the trio of twenties were tossed out on the table next to Cam's plate. "For yer meal, and what I'm assumin' will be gallons of energy drinks and Cheetos before the night is through. We'll talk tomorrow." The wide shouldered man ambled out from the diner then -- though he went out through the kitchen, and from there the back door, where he could only assume Rod and Silas had plenty of time to play snatch and grab, and meet him. -d-
Bits N Bombs: Cam took two bills to pocket and left the last to pay for the meal and tip. Standing up he would move out the front door and slip right back into his mustang and drive off back to his home so he could get to work on watching every nook and cranny off a forest to see if someone ever left it. Yep. Long night indeed planned ahead for him -d-
